Chinua Achebe’s Body Arrives In Nigeria

*The body of Late Prof. Chinua Achebe’s arrived in Nigeria today and was received ceremoniously by government officials at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja.

The body has since been moved to Enugu, where it was received by his elder brother, Chief Augustine Achebe, other family members and state government officials. Burial rights will be announced soon.

Chinua Achebe was best known for his first novel and magnum opus,Things Fall Apart (1958), which is the most widely read book in modern African literature. Most recently he gained a lot of fame for his narrative of the Biafran civil war, There Was A Country.
